“The classics of Villa Charlotte”, a new music festival in Les Sables-d’Olonne

The classics of Villa Charlotte“, this is the name of the new party which will be organized a Sables d’Olonne. The first edition will be held 15, 16 and 17 September 2023.

The restoration of the Villa Charlotte in La Chaume is a project led by the municipality of Les Sables-d’Olonne.

Thus was born the idea of ​​creating a festival in this unique place. Its name, Villa Charlotte, refers to Charlotte Vormèse, wife of the owner, deputy Joseph Chailley, a virtuoso violinist at the end of the 19th century.And century.

“A bond has already been forged between me and Les Sables-d’Olonne: the first time in 2020 for the Folles Journées and in 2022 during a concert with the ONPL. Each time it was a very pleasant meeting with the public ”.

Fanny Clamagirand wishes to create a meeting place for solo artists and chamber musicians of the “Les Classiques de la Villa Charlotte” festival.

Christian Guillonneau, former director of the Marin Marais conservatory and member of the Friends of the Villa Charlotte association, confirms: “Charlotte was a very contemporary musician of her time. She played a lot, almost a concert every day, in the Parisian salons where all the arts met.

On Sunday the public will be able to attend concert with ONPL musicians at the end of the morning, “a program with much appreciated works so that it is attractive to the public “, points out Fanny Clamagirand, followed by a country aperitif and a closing concert at the end of the afternoon.
