All Marvel movies released in 2023: release dates and details

Marvel in 2022 was a bit underwhelming, but it had its moments. So far, the Marvel 2023 movie lineup looks much more promising.

Ever since Iron Man kicked off Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008, we’ve been subjected to an endless supply of Marvel movies, good and bad. From the depths of The Incredible Hulk and the first two Thor films to the heights of Iron Man and Captain America: Winter Soldier, they never seem to stop, giving us an endless amount of superhero content in movie form and as TV shows.

It’s nearly impossible to maintain quality with this flurry of movies and series. She-Hulk is the best example of the decline…

Honestly, many of these projects are completely useless. Who the hell needs so many Ant-Man movies, is that really something people want? We can’t blame them, though. After all, you’re absolutely going to be seeing the new Spider-Man movie, aren’t you?

Marvel Movies 2023: Release Dates, Plot & More

There are a total of five new movies scheduled for 2023 and, surprise, one of them is an Ant-Man movie…

marvel movie Release date
Kraven the hunter January 13, 2023
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania February 17, 2023
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 May 5, 2023
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse June 2, 2023
Wonders July 28, 2023

So what can we expect from Marvel in 2023? A bunch of sequels, apparently. We have another one The ant man movies that nobody needs. Guardians of the Galaxy is back too, which is good. Another Spider-Verse movie, now that’s something to look forward to. Wonders? I do not care. Uh, and we’ll start with a standalone for Kraven the Hunter! Now that’s something I can accept.

So let’s take a closer look at each of these versions.

Kraven the Hunter (January 13, 2023)

Following in the footsteps of Venom and Morbius, we get another origin story for an iconic Spider-Man villain. Hopefully this film doesn’t turn out to be an absolute disaster, like Morbius did.

For those of you who don’t know, Kraven is a hunter and sees Spidey as his prey. So I think we can expect him to appear in a Spider-Man movie soon. The film will see the return of Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the MCU, although personally I would have chosen Jason Momoa. He previously played Quicksilver in Age of Ultron and was killed off pretty quickly. Man, I hope they deal with it somehow.

So far we don’t know much about the film, we don’t even have a good photo to include in the article, but I hope for a good action with a more serious atmosphere.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania (February 17, 2023)

The ant man

Ant-Man may not be my favorite superhero, but his impact on the MCU has been undeniable. Paul Rudd is really great as Scott Lang, I just don’t particularly like the plot, the villains or the superpowers provided by Ant-Man.

Although filming finished in 2021, the film will be released in early 2023, due to schedule changes. The best thing to do to get out of the pandemic. Maybe this entry in the franchise will be pretty awesome, as the villain is supposed to be Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror. This time around, Kang will be wearing his comic book-accurate armor of purple and metallic green, and he’s looking great.

So yeah, maybe this Ant-Man movie won’t suck.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023)

Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Guardians of the Galaxy has always been a fun time with its silly charm and wild space adventures. They’ll have to offer something new, though, because now every Marvel movie does.

Plot-wise, we know we’ll learn more about Rocket Raccoon’s backstory and that Peter Quill will be dealing with a version of Gamora who doesn’t remember him. So maybe this time it won’t just be silly pranks.

So far, the entire cast has been confirmed to return, with the addition of Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji to play the High Evolutionary, an interesting character from the Marvel comics.

Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse (June 2, 2023)

After watching the original Spider-Verse movie in 2018, I was waiting for the sequel. This time it looks like we’ll be following Miles as he explores various alternate realities with a return of Gwen Stacy and Oscar Isaac like Spider-Man 2099.

The original release date was set for 2022, but it’s been pushed back to 2023, hopefully giving the animators enough time to make sure the sequel lives up to the original’s reputation.

The wonders (28 July 2023)

So here we have a movie that I’m definitely not thrilled about. This film is a sequel to both the Captain Marvel film and the Ms Marvel Disney+ series. It also features this girl from WandaVision who has become super powerful. None of this sounds really promising to me. The first Captain Marvel movie wasn’t great, the Ms Marvel Disney+ show was a bit meh, and Monica Rambeau was doing pretty well, but I don’t have strong feelings for her.

It actually gives the film a lot of potential, though. If I don’t have expectations, it’s easy to exceed them. So maybe the movie won’t be so bad. We haven’t seen anything yet, and it all depends on the script of the show and the potential villain, played by Zawe Ashton.

This will definitely be a film about women’s empowerment! Whether that’s good or bad depends on the writing and your mindset.
