Bryce Jones lands a legendary shot to send Limoges through to the last 16

Ultra clutch for money, time and extra time, Bryce Jones managed to beat an already legendary buzzer in Ludwisbourg to give victory to Limoges CSP (94-96, ap) and send his people to the round of 16 of the Champions League (BCL). The Limougeauds, however, were up to 22 points behind.

After the 20-point defeat against Riga (71-51) at the end of October, the Limougeauds had partly abandoned most of their European hopes in Latvia. Bottom of their Champions League group (BCL) after three defeats in as many days and above all no better in Betclic ELITE, Massimo Cancellieri and his men didn’t have the profile of a candidate for the Round of 16. This Wednesday night in Germany, Bryce Jones and his teammates pulled out to turn the hearts of all Limougeauds upside down. After a more than complicated first half (up to -22), Limoges managed to reverse the trend by snatching the draw before Bryce Jones, author of countless decisive actions, allowed the Limougeauds to celebrate on a last basket at the siren (94 – 96).

However, the task was not easy for Limoges. Halfway through the second quarter, the CSP was leading by 22 units (50-28, 15′) and saw qualifying fly away under a shower of 3-pointers from the Germans. Finally, with some defensive adjustments, the Limougeauds rallied and once again got their incredible collective talking their way out of a nasty trap. Worn by Bryce Jones (26 points on 9/14 shooting, 9 assists, 3 loose bullets and 2 blocks for 29 ratings in 34 minutes), Jayvon Graves (24 points on 7/11, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 interceptions 26 rating in 37 minutes) and Mathieu Wojciechowski (15 points in 4/5 and 5 rebounds for 19 rating in 31 minutes), the CSP even closed a 6-point deficit in overtime to offer an anthology success. A brand of character that sums up this Limoges team well and promises to still offer great sensations in the European Cup in the company of Dijon and Strasbourg in the round of 16 of the Champions League (BCL).

In the round of 16, Limoges will be in the pool of Galatasaray, Malaga and AEK Athens and will be back on deck next Tuesday in Istanbul, Turkey on the floor of Galatasaray (18:00).
