journey of the senses in Marrakech Chez Gala
In the very chic 8th arrondissement of Paris, there is the new one festive restaurant know : At the Gala! Since its opening in October, the establishment has been full and we easily understand why. At Paris Secret, we stepped through the doors of this bewitching venue and dined amidst its velvets, served like royalty. Back to experience.
Chez Gala, our favorite festive restaurant in Paris
Pushing the doors of at the Gala, we are offered a new universe. Immediately: the journey, the change of scenery. A soft atmosphere, spectacular scenery, incense scent… Chez Gala offers us a one way to Marrakech. Red velvet benches, oriental lanterns, stained glass windows, splendid tapestries, drums, exotic plants… In this welcoming atmosphere, we are ready to begin our journey of the senses, by candlelight.
Engaging dancers, musicians and decorations
On the turntables, the DJ alternates hits from the 80s, oriental songs and contemporary music. As soon as it is installed, the show already begins with a guitarist walking from table to table, for our greatest pleasure. Already in total immersion, we decide to taste the Cocktail Chez Gala. We opt for the Sofi cocktail with green cardamom-infused gin diluted with champagne, accompanied by its shot of champagne. We are also seduced by the oriental flavours Keya, made with bourbon, orange blossom, barley syrup, Manzanilla sherry and citrus foam. A real favorite for these cocktail sharp and couldn’t be tastier, which suggests a culinary journey quality.
A journey of the senses from appetizers to desserts
While the smells of spices make our mouths water, to begin with, we let ourselves be tempted by the Kefta-style lamb and veal skewers and their mint sauce is to die for. Hummus of the world in 3 colors seduce us with their flavors of avocado, fresh mint and coriander; Northern beetroot and hibiscus oil and candied lemon, chili pepper and Iranian black lemon. With great care, the waiters never fail to fervently explain to us every association of tastes and flavors for the chosen dishes.
As the evening progresses, the atmosphere cold becomes overexcited. While a magnificent the oriental dancer ripples her curves as the tables pass, all the guests begin to dance, sing and climb onto the tables. A festive and friendly atmosphere that immediately makes one think of the Counter Darna of Marrakechmore Parisian chic.
Finally, make way for the second courses whose flavors have thrilled all our senses. Let’s taste a yummy minced chicken pellets, compote of onions, almonds and cinnamon and its saffron poultry juice. Version also available vegthis thin tablet oriental will seduce lovers of sweet and savory. Served in its Gala-branded earthenware dish, chicken tagine, green olives and perfectly executed candied lemon transport us to a Moroccan Riad. As an accompaniment we can only advise you to opt for the traditional semolina and for the mashed carrots with cuminboth lightly scented.
Although full, we let ourselves be tempted by a light dessert, to end on a sweet note. The freshness of cinnamon flavored orange salad it so wonderfully complements our journey of the senses. Incidentally, we still winked at the dessert to share served to our table neighbors: a splendid one Pavlova with whipped orange blossom ganache, lemon cream and pistachio praline.
