ᑕ❶ᑐ Montpellier 1-3 Paris Saint Germain: Kylian Mbappe is injured as leaders win
Two missed penalties, a goalkeeper skied and injured after just 21 minutes: Kylian Mbappe experienced a nightmarish night as his Paris St-Germain side won in Montpellier.
The French striker had an early shot saved and then – after a restart – saw his ricochet hit the post, only for him to fire the rebound into an empty net.
Mbappe limped off holding his hamstring shortly after, less than two weeks before PSG’s Champions League round of 16 first leg with Bayern Munich.
Speaking after the game, manager Christophe Galtier suggested the injury was from a blow rather than a muscle problem.
“He took a hit to the back of the knee or the back of the thigh, so we’ll see,” Galtier said. “I’m not too worried. It’s a bruise or a contusion, we don’t know yet.
“With the group we don’t want to take risks with a very busy schedule, but it doesn’t seem bad to me. »

Achraf Hakimi had a first game canceled for the league leaders after the break before Fabian Ruiz broke the deadlock, heading home from close range.
Lionel Messi then doubled his lead from close range, after a first-half shot had been disallowed for offside, before Arnaud Novin and Warren Zaire-Emery exchanged late goals.
This win puts PSG five points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
